Job Summary
The Vice-rectorate for Research and International Relations along with the Economics, Law and Social Innovation for People (EDISPe) research team at the University of Deusto are seeking postdoctoral candidates to join the Faculty of Law. This position aims to strengthen the team with a researcher who possesses a strong interdisciplinary and international profile. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, focusing on Social Economy, Law, and Innovation to address social and environmental challenges. This three-year role offers an opportunity to enhance the team's internationalisation and consolidate research positioning within the University's strategic hubs. We seek a motivated scholar committed to academic excellence and the ethical use of artificial intelligence to start on 1 September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
Research Excellence: Produce high-quality publications in top-tier journals indexed in WoS and SJR, collaborating closely with other members of the EDISPe group.
Project Management: Actively participate in competitive research projects funded by the Basque Government, the Spanish Government, and Horizon Europe.
Grant Writing: Lead the design and submission of competitive research proposals that demonstrate measurable social impact.
Mentorship: Collaborate on proposals and strategies to incorporate and support predoctoral researchers within the team.
Team Integration: Work under the guidance of Principal Investigator Aitziber Mugarra and Co-IP Marta Enciso to advance the group's strategic objectives.
Requirements and Expectations:
Academic Qualifications: A PhD degree is mandatory. Applications from candidates who completed their PhD in 2023 or later are particularly encouraged.
Research Track Record: Proven quality in scientific publications (journals, books, or chapters) and experience in research projects.
Methodological Skills: Strong command of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, with additional knowledge in bibliometry highly valued.
International Mobility: Previous international research stays of at least four weeks. Candidates meeting the Marie Curie mobility criteria will be given positive consideration.
Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish is valued for research and collaboration.
Professional Competencies: Strong teamwork skills, empathy, motivation for innovation, and alignment with the Jesuit mission and values of the University of Deusto.
Benefits:
Contract Duration: Fixed-term contract for a period of 3 years.
Salary: Annual gross salary ranging from 37,000 EUR to 41,000 EUR, depending on the candidate's experience.
Payment Terms: The salary is distributed into 15 monthly instalments.
Professional Category: Contracted under the Associate Researcher (Investigador/a asociado/a) category.
