The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Deusto invites applications for a full-time faculty position (Teaching and Research Staff – PDI) in the field of International Relations at the San Sebastian Campus.
This position offers an excellent professional opportunity to join an internationally oriented academic environment, with a strong focus on teaching in English, research development and contribution to the academic and institutional mission of the University of Deusto.
The successful candidate will actively contribute to undergraduate and graduate-level teaching as well as undertake research activities in International Relations in coordination with the Department.

The selected candidate will participate in the following functions:
Teach undergraduate courses in different areas within the field of International Relations, fully delivered in English.
Supervise undergraduate projects
Participate in career development and academic guidance activities for International Relations students.
Contribute to the academic coordination and continuous improvement of the International Relations programme.
Actively participate in research activities within the area of International Relations, with the objective of contributing to publications and academic output.
Engage in departmental and faculty-level academic management and service activities.

Contract type: According to University regulations
Start date would be 1st of September 2026
International Mobility Support:In the case of an international appointment, the University of Deusto will provide institutional support for relocation and initial settlement, in accordance with its internal policies, in order to facilitate the candidate’s integration into the academic and professional environment.
Requirements
PhD in International Relations or a closely related discipline.
High level of English (minimum C1). Demonstrated professional
experience in English will be positively valued, as all teaching activities
will be delivered in English.
Intermediate level of Spanish, or willingness to acquire it during the first years of employment.
Ability to contribute to research in the field of International Relations.
Teaching vocation and commitment to academic excellence.
Valued aspects:
Teaching experience in the field of International Relations.
Experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary professional environments.
Proficiency in additional languages beyond English and Spanish will be positively valued.
ANECA accreditation (or equivalent), or clear potential to obtain it will be considered a valuable asset (within a maximum of three academic years).

Professional competence, teaching vocation, empathy, ability to work in a team, adaptability and identification with the identity and mission of the University of Deusto as a Jesuit University.
