Job Summary
The Nanophysics Group at CFM is offering a predoctoral position (1+1+1 years) starting in January to work with Dr. Sara Catalano, in collaboration with Prof. Vitaly Golovach, in the fabrication and experimental characterization of cryogenic devices based on hybrid superconducting interfaces.
Job Description
The position will be funded by the project PIBA_2025_1_0018, titled “Superconducting Hybrid Interfaces for Quantum Technology (SPRINTEQ)” under the 2025 Call for Basic and/or Applied Research Projects of the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque Government and PID2024_160189NA_I00 project funded by MICIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and by FEDER, EU.
The selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC - Materials Physics Center. The salary will be of 18.635 euros during the first year before taxes.
The Nanophysics Group at the Center of Materials Physics addresses the design and study of advanced materials for the development of relevant technology applications. Current research topics in the group include the engineering of interfaces between magnetic and superconducting materials, the synthesis of novel van der Waals metamaterials, and their integration into cryogenic and quantum devices. Candidates must hold a Bachelor degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering, preferably in the field of Solid State Physics. Expertise in device fabrication will be highly appreciated for this particular position, as well as background in 2D material-based devices and programming.
