Job Summary
The Theory of Nanophotonics Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (6 months)
starting in February-May 2026 to work with Dr. Rubén Esteban, in collaboration with Prof.
Javier Aizpurua, in the theoretical description of nanophotonic systems through quantum
computation.
Job Description
This position will be partially funded by the IKUR Strategy- Quantum Technologies (QT)
2025-2026 of the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque
Government.
The selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC - Materials Physics
Center. The salary will be of 35.650,44 euros before taxes.
The Theory of Nanophotonics Group at the Center of Materials Physics addresses the
optical response of nanoscale systems. Current research topics in the group include the
analysis of quantum effects of interest for quantum technologies, field-enhanced
spectroscopy and nanoscopy. For more information, visit our web:

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Physics or a related discipline, preferably in the field
of Quantum Physics. Expertise in cavity Quantum Electrodynamics and Quantum
Computing will be highly appreciated for this particular position, as well as background in
nanophotonics.
