Job Summary
The Nanophysics Lab. Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (6 months) starting
in 01.01.2026 to work with Dr. Schiller, in collaboration with Dra. Oyarzabal (BCMaterials)
and Drs. Zabala, Reta and Artexte (UPV/EHU), in the investigation on “MOLecular quBITS:
from bulk to the surface (MOLBITS)” project.The task will be to grow molecular qubits on
adequate surfaces by different techniques, control the growth and analyze the structure and electronic properties of such molecular arrays on surfaces.
Job Description
This position will be partially funded by the IKUR Strategy- Neutrionics or Quantum
Technologies (QT) 2025-2026 of the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation
of the Basque Government.
The selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC - Materials Physics
Center. The salary will be of 35.650,44 euros during the first year before taxes.
The Nanophysics Lab. Group at the Center of Materials Physics addresses in this project
the growth and characterization of the electronic properties of molecular precursors
designed by the collaborating institutions BCMaterial and UPV/EHU. Current research
topics in the group include Quantum materials, Nanosensing and Green Chemistry. For

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Physics or Chemistry, preferably in the field of
surface characterization under ultra-high vacuum conditions or solid state physics. Expertise
in molecular growth and its electronic and magnetic structure will be highly appreciated for
this particular position, as well as background in the experimental techniques of the
laboratory, i.e., Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and electronic spectroscopies.
