Job Summary
A postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr. Jordi Llop, at the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Imaging Laboratory (CIC biomaGUNE, San Sebastián, Spain), to work within the framework of the RADIOBOTS project — a public–private collaboration focused on the preclinical development of radiolabelled nanomotors for bladder cancer therapy.
Job Description
The successful candidate will participate in the RADIOBOTS consortium, which includes Nanobots Therapeutics S.L., the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), and CIC biomaGUNE.
The project aims to develop and validate radiolabelled nanomotors for the treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). Within this context, the postdoctoral researcher will lead the radiolabelling strategy for the incorporation of radionuclides (e.g. 68Ga, 177Lu, 225Ac) into nanomotors, and will design and conduct in vivo experiments to evaluate their biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutic efficacy in preclinical models.
The work will include:
Developing and optimizing radiochemical labelling protocols for nanomotor formulations.
Performing quality control, stability, and dosimetry studies of radiolabelled nanomotors.
Conducting in vivo PET/SPECT/CT studies in small-animal models to assess tumor accumulation and treatment response.
Analyzing imaging and ex vivo data (quantification, autoradiography, immunohistochemistry).
Collaborating closely with chemists and biologists from consortium partners to ensure translational impact.
The selected candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment, with access to CIC biomaGUNE’s state-of-the-art radiochemistry and imaging facilities (cyclotron, radiochemistry laboratories, preclinical PET/SPECT/CT, and high-field MRI systems).
