Laboratory Technician for the Electron Microscopy Platform

Job Summary

CIC energiGUNE is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the Electron Microscopy Platform and participate in the activities of General Analysis Characterization Unit.

Job Description

Job functions:

Sample preparation, development of calibrations (if necessary), conducting routine or nonspecific measurements and record all data and results in specified forms with accuracy and responsibility.
Keep updated the tools for registering and organizing the analysis requests.
Ensure all the material necessary for fluent work in the different analysis techniques.
Taking care of the maintenance of the equipment and facilities.
Provide technical support to different research projects, making contribution to those projects ensuring compliance with analysis and report deadlines.
Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Introduction and basic training about different techniques when necessary.
Participation in the drafting of quality procedures and their implementation according to internal quality standards.

Additional Requirements

Specific Requirements

Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material sciences or related fields.
Theoretical and practical experience in different microscopy techniques as scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Includes also experience in sample preparation for SEM measurements.
Experience in analytical techniques will be highly valued: Gas Chromatography (GC/MS, GC FID/BID), CHSNO Elemental Analysis, Physical adsorption of gas (BET) or ICP-OES.
Ability to identify and solve technical problems.
Proficiency for quickly learning new skills or field of study.
Good verbal skills in English.
Proactive and committed attitude with high levels of initiative, proactivity, and willingness to learn.
A good team player who can collaborate with other team members.
