CIC energiGUNE is recruiting a researcher por the Synthesis and design of polymeric materials team.

Description:
Main tasks:

Design and synthesis of monomer and polymer materials with ad-hoc properties.
Structural and physicochemical characterization: nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
Polymer electrolytes formulation, cell integration, and characterization.
Processing and analysis of the results obtained from the characterization tests, providing conclusions and ideas to improve the synthesis procedure and electrolyte performance.
Participating in communication with companies and proposals preparation when required.

Specific Requirements

PhD in Chemistry / Polymer Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Materials Science / or a related field is required.
Strong background in polymer design and synthesis.
Hands-on experience of standard operating procedures for polymer synthesis and characterization.
Knowledge on polymer electrolytes and solid-state batteries would be considered positively.
Knowledge on electrochemical testing methods would be considered positively.
Systemic problem-solving skills.
A good team player who can collaborate with other groups, academic and industrial partners.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
