Job Summary

The Basque Center for Applied Mathematics- BCAM, is launching one Postdoctoral position of one year, renewable based on funding availability and conditioned by a positive performance evaluation of the first year, to work in The Mathematical Design, Modelling and Simulations group (MATHES) at BCAM, under the supervision of Dr. Michael Barton, funded by the project Aurrera.

Job Description

We are looking for a promising researcher with a background in Geometric Modeling and Manufacturing. The possible research topics include, but are not limited to: simulations of 5-axis hybrid manufacturing, in particular 3D printing and/or 5-axis computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining, free-form surface rationalization, and robot motion- and path-planning and optimization. Previous experience in geometric modeling projects related to CNC machining, 3D printing, and/or robotics is particularly welcome.

The candidate will also have the opportunity to interact and work with other researchers, and will be part of a research group with a good balance of younger and more established researchers with a vast collective range of interests in Computational Mathematics and related areas, and counts with a large network of collaborators spread across different countries.

Benefits

The gross annual salary of the Fellowship will be 30.444€ - 37.331€ according to experience.

It will then be on your own responsibility to make your yearly
income declaration at the Bizkaia Treasury Agency.
Additionally, we offer a moving allowance up to 2.000€.
Should the researcher have a family at the time of
recruitment:
1. 2.000€ gross in a single payment will
be offered (you must be marriedofficial
register or with children and the
certificate to prove it must be sent).
2. 1.200€ gross per year/per child (up to
2 children) will be offered (the
certificate to prove it must be sent).
Free access to the Public Health System in Spain is
provided to all employees.
