Job Summary
CIDETEC Energy Storage needs to recruit a researcher to work in its Energy Materials Unit.
The position will support the needs of several strategic projects and research lines within the Li ion batteries group.
Job Description
You will form part of a state-of-the-art research centre, geared to sustainability and the circular economy, which has helped electrify Spain’s roads and is now working towards 100% future sustainability.
The developer will join the Energy Materials Unit, working on the development of battery technologies. They must be capable of carrying out several lines of work simultaneously, optimising resources and maximising results.
The researcher will work independently, according to the defined work plan.
Your work will focus on the following activities:
Research and development of lithium ion batteries, including electrode and electrolyte formulation optimization, cell design and assembly, physicochemical and electrochemical characterization and other tasks.
Literature and patent searches to identify new materials, technologies and processes.
Preparation and management of European R&D&I projects.

Requirements
Education:
Doctorate/Master's Degree/Degree in industrial engineering, electro-chemistry or similar technical studies.
Languages:
High level of written and spoken English
Knowledge:
The successful candidate must have more than 3 years of experience in the field of Li-ion battery research including:
Experience in electrode processing and cell manufacturing.
Experience in electrochemical battery characterisation techniques.
Experience in managing R&D projects, specially within European funded programmes.
Experience in European project management is an added advantage.
Observations:
A highly motivated person, with a keen interest in research and innovation, you will join a multidisciplinary team. You will be able to organise your work, meeting both the deadlines and the established objectives. Problem-solving capacity and scientific criteria. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
