Post-doctoral researcher on muntifunctional bioinspired self-sensing coatings

Job Summary

BCMaterials is searching for a motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher for researching on multifunctional bioinspired self-sensing coatings with improved durability and low environmental impact.

Biobased materials able to be textured and to detect pressure and temperature will be developed to act as active coatings in various technological environments. Materials able to self-detect damage by modifying electrical characteristics or other physical response will be also developed.

Candidates with experience in the processing and characterization of protective coatings and/or self-sensing coatings are particularly welcome, as well as those with experience on environmental friendly materials for coating applications.

This post-doctoral position is to work in the BISUM II project, funded by the Basque Government under the Elkartek program. The project funding will end on 31/12/2025.

Job Description

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related areas.
Demonstrated experience in any of the following fields: processing and characterization of protective coatings; processing and characterization of stimuli responsive materials for coating applications.
Experience in electrical, mechanical and thermal characterization of materials, in the use of different facilities and data treatment will be valorized.
A team player who can collaborate with other research groups.
Demonstrated ability in technical writing for technical reports, scientific publications, and
presentations.
Excellent communication skills in English.


WORK PROGRAM
