Deusto Education Research (eDucaR), from the University of Deusto, whose mission is to improve education by advancing high-quality educational research with scientific, policy and societal impact, invites applications for a postdoctoral research position at the SCIREARLY Horizon Europe project

Job Description

SCIREARLY (Policies and practices based on scientific research for reducing underachievement and early school leaving in Europe) is determined to identify, systematize and replicate successful policies and practices based on scientific research that has proven to reduce underachievement in basic skills, including digital skills, while fostering psycho-emotional aspects and well-being. This know-how will contribute to reducing Early School Leaving in Europe, enabling upward social mobility for the most vulnerable groups. The project relies on a participatory and dialogic approach that promotes the co-creation of scientific knowledge and solutions among educators, students, families, scientists and policy-makers, ensuring the societal impact of the project.

Objective: The candidate will join the research team in carrying out the scientific activities foreseen in the project, such as:
- Intervention studies.
- Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Publishing in high impact journals (WoS and SJR) along with group members.
- Writing results, preparing deliverables and disseminating, among others.

We offer:
? Duration. The contract will be for 1 year
? Amount and terms of payment: An allocation of 32,985.15 to 42,000 gross euros per year will be granted, distributed into 15 monthly installments, depending on the candidate’s experience.
? Terms: The contract with the University of Deusto will fall under the associate researcher/investigador/a asociado/a category.

Starting Date:
To be adapted to the availability of selected candidates (preferably on November 2024).

Additional Requirements

Qualifications required:

? PhD in fields related to Education, Psychology, Sociology, among others.

Requested background knowledge:

- Proven experience in research projects, specially in competitive grants (i.e. EU Research Framework Programme)

- Advance knowledge in research skills to collect, analyse, and disseminate data

- Track record in scientific publications

- Excellent knowledge of English (oral/written), and high level of Spanish.

Other valuable aspects:

- Indexed Scientific publications, h-index, stays in reference research centers.

- Good ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals and track actions

- Ability to work in teams and flexibility to adapt to different strategies.

- Professional attitude, academic integrity and collegiality.
