Job Summary

DeustoTech – Deusto Institute of Technology is the technological research center of the University of Deusto, located on the Bilbao campus, whose mission is to promote research, training and knowledge transfer at the service of society and industry. Within the framework of the European project MOUNTADAPT, it seeks to strengthen its team with the incorporation of a postdoctoral researcher specialized in the application of artificial intelligence in the context of "environmental health".

Job Description

The successful candidate will work at the forefront of new algorithms and models working on factors affecting environmental health with special emphasis on climate change and its adverse effects. Therefore, he/she will contribute to the development of an effective ecosystem for the development and cultivation of talent by generating enriching knowledge and facilitating its transfer and social impact.


Tasks:

Actively participate in the area of environmental health with the use of the 4.0 paradigm and, in particular, artificial intelligence.
Collaborate with the teams of the MOUNTADAPT project partners working in a multidisciplinary way and with the purpose of boosting the particular area of "environmental health" in the eVIDA team.
Provide support to the research group during the preparation of proposals for new projects in the area of national and international scope aligned with the MOUNTADAPT thematic.
Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
Publishing research results in scientific journals and national and international conferences.
Provide support to the research team in the drafting of technical, dissemination and administrative reports on the MOUNTADAPT project.

Specific Requirements

- PhD in fields related to Artificial Intelligence, Engineering or Mathematics of application in the field of both human and environmental health.
- Demonstrable experience in research projects.
- Advanced programming skills (Python, R, C++, etc.).
- Familiarity with European public funding programs for R&D projects.
- Proven experience providing support to obtain competitive funding for research, as well as a track record in technology transfer initiatives.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and flexibility to adapt to different strategies.
- Willingness to travel and collaborate with different entities and projects.
- High level of written and spoken English and French.


The following will be assessed:

- Previous experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence, specially applied to health related topics including environmental health.
- Indexed Scientific publications. Conferences CORE A, B. Good Google Scholar h-index.
- Stays in reference research centers.
