Job Summary

A PhD Fellowship is available in the group of Dr. Ana Beloqui (Multifunctional Protein-Polymer Hybrids, San Sebastian) and Dr. Aitor Larrañaga (Polymeric Multilayer Capsules, Bilbao) at the Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering, POLYMAT Fundazioa (www.polymat.eu).

Multifunctional polymer capsules for biomedical applications

We offer a highly multidisciplinary project that combines research involving biology, biocatalysis, and polymer science&engineering. The project considers the fabrication of multilayer polymer capsules incorporating bioactive entities and the evaluation of their therapeutic potential in vitro.

The project will be carried out between two research groups at POLYMAT, a vibrant multidisciplinary and international research institute in Bilbao and San Sebastian, Spain. The Institute offers excellent working conditions and is well equipped with instrumentation and facilities.

Job Description

Required qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have a BSc and MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biology or a related discipline. The candidate is expected to work in a multidisciplinary and an international environment. Good command of written and spoken English is a must.
