Fundación Biofísica Bizkaia

Technician position. Bioorthogonal Chemistry.

Research Field: Chemistry
Sub Research Field:

Job Summary

We offer a technician position at the FluoroNanoTools lab (https://www.biofisika.org/en/research/fluoronanotools-laboratory) at Instituto Biofisika (Leioa) under the supervision of Dr. Mónica Carril.
The research will focus on the scale up of bioorthogonal strategies to label membrane receptors in vivo. The technician will reproduce and scale up the synthesis of molecules of certain complexity in the frame of a collaborative interdisciplinary project that aims to neuromodulate the neuronal response. We aim to use ligand directed receptor covalent labelling, followed by bioorthogonal binding with suitably modified probes. The researcher needs to have a strong background in organic synthesis and previous experience in handling HPLC-MS equipment will be highly valued.
