Job Summary

CIC energiGUNE is seeking an experienced person to work in a very ambitious and disruptive project. The position is open within Pathfinder OPEN project WASTE2H2, which received funding from European commission and is dedicated to develop by rational design novel ionic liquid-based catalytic systems to tackle efficient and selective plastic waste deconstruction to fuels and other decarbonized valuable materials under non-conventional heating sources. This exciting project implies active collaboration with theoretical, experimental, and engineering teams-members of the project consortium.

Job Description

Job function:

To rationally design, prepare and full characterize novel catalytic systems.
To perform catalytic tests of the prepared catalytic systems.
To implement characterization tools to fully analyze the targeted reaction products.
To work closely with the principal investigator and team members to maintain a high level of scientific productivity.
To contribute to other projects ongoing in the research group and/or area.
To prepare, present, and report research results and publish scientific results in key peer-reviewed journals in due time.

Additional Requirements


Specific Requirements

PhD in Organic/inorganic Chemistry, catalysis, or related fields
Experience in ionic liquids and catalysts (synthesis and characterization)
Experience in applying non-conventional heating source (e.g., microwaves, induction)
Experience in characterization techniques such as NMR, FT-IR, TPD, TEM, and related.
Preferable, knowledge in plastic waste chemical valorization.
Preferable, previous participation in EU projects as researcher.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to work and conduct research independently with minimal supervision.
A good record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
