Job Summary
CIDETEC is looking to recruit a Researcher in the Energy Storage area.
The post will cover the needs of strategic projects in the post mortem area of the Energy Materials unit.
Job Description
You will join the Storage Systems Unit, working on knowledge generation and industrial projects. They must be capable of carrying out several lines of research simultaneously, optimising resources and maximising results.
You will join a team led by a line manager, working independently according to a defined work plan involving both technical and managerial activities.
Your work will focus on the following activities:
Pouch/cylindrical cell opening and rigid housing in controlled atmosphere conditions (glove chamber).
Physical-chemical characterisation of cell materials and components (SEM-EDX, TEM, XRD, XPS, Raman, NMR, TGA).
Electrochemical characterisation of electrodes and cells (GITT, EIS, CV).
Assembly of button cells in controlled atmosphere conditions (glove chamber, dry chamber).
Project management.
Drafting of project proposals.

Requirements
Education:
PhD in the field of Advanced Materials for Energy
Languages:
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Knowledge:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound knowledge in:
Inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry and advanced materials.
R&D in battery systems and post-mortem analysis.
Characterisation techniques, SEM-EDX, TEM, XRD, NMR, Raman, XPS, FTIR, TGA, gas adsorption (BET & BJH).
Electrochemical characterisation of batteries (GITT, EIS, CV)
Observations:
A highly motivated person, with a keen interest in research and innovation, you will join a multidisciplinary team. You will be able to organise your work, meeting both the deadlines and the established objectives. Problem-solving capacity and scientific criteria. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Having undertaken a placement abroad and more than 3 years’ work experience will be considered a plus.
