Job Summary
The PhD project is to investigate the non-invasive measure of blood flow by MRI with human data. The PhD project will be developed in a multidisciplinary and international environment at CIC biomaGUNE, a reference center in molecular and functional imaging and the BCBL (Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language) a reference center for brain and language using imaging, and equipped with 3T MRI scanner for these studies.
Job Description
4D flow MRI is a recent developed technique that allows the evaluation up to the three directions of space over the cardiac cycle with greater precision and different cardiovascular and neurological applications.. In the project the candidate will develop data acquisition for flow MRI with a group of volunteers that will be exposed to different gas ventilatory conditions. The candidate will develop software for data analysis and flow quantification in the brain vasculature and will peform a complete analysis of the flow dynamics and their effect on vascular remodeling. The study includes development of Deep learning algorithms for the automatic or semiautomatic quantification of the flow related parameters in the vasculature, requiring a previous segmentation of the vascular structures. There is still a need for a reliable and quantitiative software for this data analysis.
