POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION IN THE SOUZA GROUP “TRANSPORT AND OPTICAL PHENOMENA IN BROKEN SYMMETRY MATERIALS”

Job Description

The Souza Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (1+1 years) starting between
April and the end of June 2023 to work with Prof. Ivo Souza, in collaboration with Dr.
Fernando de Juan and with Dr. Stepan Tsirkin, on first-principles studies of transport and
optical effects sensitive to broken symmetries -- such as structural chiraliry and
antiferromagnetic order -- that are "invisible" to standard electromagnetic probes. Such
effects include magnetoelectric and quadrupolar couplings, natural optical activity,
directional dichroism, and nonlinear (magneto)transport.
