Job Summary
DeustoTech - Instituto Tecnológico Deusto (http://deustotech.deusto.es/) is the technological research center of the University of Deusto, located on the Bilbao campus, whose mission is to promote research, training and knowledge transfer at the service of society and industry. DeustoTech is currently involved in 18 European projects (H2020 and Horizon Europe), and fosters a creative and challenging environment with international researchers and PhD students.
Job Description
We are looking for a researcher with proven experience in the area of Artificial Intelligence to join a European research project in the field of food waste, collaborating with prestigious partners, and contributing significantly to scientific progress in this area.
Among the activities to be performed are:
-Data analytics for the diagnosis of generation patterns
-Design and development of models based on machine learning and system dynamics for the analysis of the impact of food waste prevention strategies
-Leading data collection and model design by coordinating multidisciplinary and international work teams
-Conceive and design proposals for new projects in the area at national and international levels
-Promote the scientific dissemination of research results and their transfer to society and industry

General requirements:
PhD in Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Industrial or similar, in the field of Artificial Intelligence
Specific requirements:
-At least 3 years of experience in project management and development in the Artificial
-Intelligence area, preferably in one or more of the following R+D+i lines:
-Data analytics for the diagnosis of behavior patterns
-Data models based on machine learning for the development of decision-making tools
-Models based on system dynamics for the prediction of future trends and analysis of scenarios
-Good communication and social skills, creativity and ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment are a must
-Experience in sectors such as: sustainability, circular economy, waste management.
-Proven ability to obtain competitive funding for research projects, as well as a track record in technology transfer initiatives
-Knowledge of the national and European system of public calls for the financing of R+D+i projects
-Scientific and/or technical publications and communications in international congresses.
-High level of spoken and written English
-Office automation at the user level
-Driving license
