R&D SCIENTIST/ENGINEER IN NEUTRON SCIENCE
Job Description
The Centro de Física de Materiales – Materials Physics Center has an opening for an R&D Scientist/Engineer (1+1 years), to work with Prof. F. Fernandez-Alonso and collaborators. The successful candidate will join ongoing multidisciplinary efforts across several institutions within the Basque Country to explore and assess in depth the latest developments and opportunities offered by ultra-compact neutron sources for scientific and industrial applications. It is also envisaged that the candidate will be engaged in experimental campaigns at existing facilities, as part of a wider and growing programme of activities in neutron science. Candidates must hold a PhD degree in the Physical Sciences, Engineering or related discipline. The position requires demonstrated experience in the use and development of scientific instrumentation and infrastructures, particularly neutron-based. Project-management skills would also be an asset.
The position is funded by MCIN and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR-C17.I1, as well as by IKUR Strategy under the collaboration agreement between Ikerbasque Foundation and DIPC on behalf of the Department of Education of the Basque Government.
The selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC - Materials Physics Center. The salary will be of 35.650,44 euros during the first year before taxes.
