Job Summary
POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION IN THE GAS-SOLID INTERFACES GROUP
Job Description
The Gas-Solid interfaces Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (1+1 years) starting in February 20th 2023 to work with Dr. Maite Alducin Ochoa, in collaboration with Prof. Iñaki Juaristi Oliden, in the theoretical description of complex gas-surface dynamics and reactivity based on Neural Networks methods.
The positions will be funded by MCIN and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR-C17.I1, as well as by IKUR Strategy under the collaboration agreement between Ikerbasque Foundation and DIPC on behalf of the Department of Education of the Basque Government.
The selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC - Materials Physics Center. The salary will be of 35.650,44 euros during the first year before taxes.
The Gas-Solid Interfaces Group at the Materials Physics Center addresses diverse aspects of the interaction of gas species and adsorbates with solid surfaces under thermal and non-thermal conditions. Current research topics in the group include photo-induced reactions at surfaces, nonadiabatic effects in gas-solid reactivity and adsorbates, catalytic properties at 2D materials, etc. For more information, visit our web: http://cfm.ehu.es/gassolid/
Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Physics or Chemistry, preferably in the field of Theoretical Chemical Physics. Expertise in theoretical developments and methods to construct multidimensional Potential Energy Surfaces, in Time-dependent and conventional Density Functional Theory, in atomistic Neural Networks and/or evolutionary algorithms, and in Molecular Dynamics Simulations will be highly valued for this particular position, as well as background in Scientific programing (fortran, C++, python, Linux shell scripting…) and in High Performance Computing.
