Job Description

DESCRIPTION
DeustoTech – Deusto Institute of Technology (http://deustotech.deusto.es/) is the technological research centre of the University of Deusto, located on the Bilbao campus, whose mission is to promote research, training and knowledge transfer at the service of society and industry. DeustoTech is currently involved in 18 European projects (H2020 and Horizon Europe) and fosters a creative and challenging environment with international researchers and PhD students.
We seek to incorporate a researcher with experience in the area of Transport and Mobility to drive and lead international projects, coordinate multidisciplinary and diverse teams, collaborate with partners of recognized prestige, and contribute significantly to scientific progress in this field.
Among the activities to be carried out are:
Identify opportunities and trends in research in the field of the application of ICTs for the improvement of Transport and Mobility.
Conceive and design proposals for national and international projects.
Lead the execution of projects coordinating multidisciplinary work teams.
Establish links and collaborate with other public and national and international entities.
Promote the scientific dissemination of research results and their transfer to society and industry.
REQUIREMENTS
PhD in civil engineering, transport engineering or similar.
Demonstrable experience in the management and development of transport and mobility projects, preferably in one or more of the following lines of research:
Transport modelling and simulation.
Analysis of user travelling behaviour.
Analysis of mobility data.
Experience in sectors such as traffic management, multimodal mobility, and connected and autonomous vehicles, among others.
Demonstrated ability to obtain competitive funding for research, as well as experience in technology transfer initiatives.
Knowledge of the European system of public funding for the financing of R & D projects.
Scientific and/or technical publications such as papers in JCR journals or communications at national and international conferences.
High level of spoken and written English.

THE FOLLOWING WILL BE ASSESSED:
Knowledge of transport modelling software (Aimsun, Visum, Vissim...).
Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, C++, ...)
Stays in reference research centres.
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Capacity for change, flexibility and versatility.
Availability to travel.

OFFERED:
Incorporation into the organization to Full Time in spring 2023. The economic conditions will be according to the experience and knowledge provided by the candidates.
