Postdoctoral position in synthetic biology towards genetic MRI (IKUR)

Job Summary

The Laboratory of Brain Circuits Therapeutics is seeking for one postdoctoral researcher (R2, R3) in synthetic biology towards genetic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The major research responsibility of the postdoctoral fellow will be advanced molecular biology for genetic engineering (gene cloning) with a major focus in generating genetic tools for MRI. The postdoc is expected to work closely with other lab members sharing lab responsibilities and work with collaborative partners on the genetic MRI project.

Job Description

The postdoctoral fellow is expected to work in tissue culture facility for virus production, infecting cultured hippocampus organotypic slices, stereotactic virus injection in mouse brain, brain slicing and functional expression analyses by Western blot analyses, and immunohistochemistry of fixed brain slices. data analysis skill are highly desirable.

Benefits

This contract will be funded by the IKUR Strategy (Project IA-GEMI) of the Basque Government and has a duration of 3 years. The performance of the project and the project's team is subject to evaluation, if the results do not comply with the expected impact, the duration could be reduced. The gross annual salary will be 33.400 euros.
