Job Summary
Phd position at Molecular and Functional Biomarkers lab at CIC biomaGUNE to study metal-based modulation of glucose metabolism in different animal models.
Job Description
A PhD position is available in “Molecular and Functional Biomarkers” Lab at CIC biomaGUNE. The predoctoral contract is linked to a 36-month project (18 month funded by CIC biomaGUNE and 18 month funded by the Spanish Network of Respiratory diseases (CIBERES)) about the development of clinically relevant design of iron-based organometallic compounds, radiolabeling of these and other tracers to study metabolism in vivo. During this project, the impact of these compounds and tracers at cellular and organism level will be studied in animal model diseases where the Warburg effect is behind the aberrant proliferation of cells: pulmonary hypertension and cancer.
CIC biomaGUNE (San Sebastian) is a leading research center in the area of bionanomaterials, molecular imaging and glycotechnology and maintains a vibrant weekly scientific seminar program given by visiting leading scientists. Additional training in soft skills and technologies covered by the CIC biomaGUNE technical platforms is offered to students within the in-house PhD training program. In 2018 CIC biomaGUNE was recognized as a Center of Excellence in the Severo Ochoa/Maria Maeztu program.
