Job Summary

DIPC is looking for two HPC technicians to join our HPC Supercomputing Center. This job position is financed by the IKUR strategy, the Basque strategy promoted by the Education Department of the Basque Government to boost the Scientific Research in specific strategic areas and to position them at international level.

Job Description

Their functions, among others, will be:

- Issue troubleshooting (working to answer research questions and solve technical problems) related to the DIPC supercomputers. The supercomputing services provided by DIPC are offered to all centers in the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network.
- Managing installation of HPC Software
- Managing the storage, network and security systems of the HPC facilities.

It will carry out its work under the supervision of the DIPC Supercomputing Center director.

It requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or similar, solid knowledge of GNU/Linux, fluency in English and immediate incorporation availability. It will be preferable to have familiarity with:

- Storage systems (CEPH, BeeGFS, RAID Levels, filesystems, partitions, exporting protocols…).
- Backup systems (Bacula).
- EasyBuild for application installation.
- Docker and Singularity containers for application deployment.
- Parallel programming paradigms (OpenMP, MPI, CUDA).
- Python or Julia programming languages.
