Job Summary
Postdoctoral position is available in the framework of the H2020-E.U.1.2.1. – FET Open project DNA-FAst data InfoRmation technologY with LIGHT driven multiSpectral optical encoding and readout (DNA-FAIRYLIGHTS), grant agreement No. 964995.
Job Description
The ground-breaking aim of DNA-FAIRYLIGHTS is to develop a hybrid metal nanoparticle/DNA hybrid system for the encoding and reconfiguration of digital information at high density combined with a fast and reliable method of data reading that avoids the time-consuming necessity to amplify the DNA for readout via sequencing. The development of such hybrid DNA systems will be a paradigm change for data encoding and storage, an area in which the current demand is rapidly outpacing the capabilities offered by semiconductor technologies. It is a highly multidisciplinary project and involves several European partners.
Within this project, the post-doc will focus on the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles and atomic clusters with tailored optical properties, and hybrid nanostructures involving DNA. The research will be carried out at CIC biomaGUNE, in San Sebastian (Spain) but collaboration with external partners will be required.
