Post-doctoral position in "Spectroscopic characterization of 2D-heterostructures"
|Sub Research Field:
We offer a postdoctoral position (m/f) in the area of experimental surface science focusing
on two-dimensional systems and their interfaces. Our aim is the local characterization of
these materials correlating structural and electronic properties. Space dependent modulation, as Moiré patterning and/or interface-induced lattice distortions, and their implication in charge transport will be specifically addressed by growing single or multiple layers on different supporting substrates.
Due to the nature of the scientific program, the successful candidate should hold a PhD
degree in physical/chemical science with sufficient knowledge of experimental research methods in an ultra-high vacuum environment.
Prior knowledge of scanning tunnelling microscopy and spectroscopy at low temperatures, as well as, of the preparation of interfaces by physical evaporation or chemical reaction on surfaces constitute a preferential title. The capability to work independently and in teamwork in collaboration with theory and experimental groups will also be positively evaluated.
Interested candidates should submit an updated CV and a brief statement of interest to the application email listed above. Reference letters are welcome but not indispensable. The reference of the specific opening to which the candidate is applying should also be stated in the subject line.
The contract will have a duration of one year, renewable based on performance and availability of funding.
