Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated student recently graduated in Chemistry, or related fields interested in performing a PhD as part of a collaborative project between the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the Center for Cooperative Research in Biomaterials (CIC biomaGUNE).
Job Description
The PhD candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Carlos Sanchez-Cano (DIPC), Dr. Susana Carregal Romero and Prof. Jesus Ruiz Cabello (both CIC biomaGUNE) to develop organometallic catalysts as therapeutic modulators for glucose metabolism. This will be ultimately aimed at developing therapeutic agents against pathological conditions such as metabolic syndrome (which increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes), cancer or pulmonary hypertension.
Previous experience in synthetic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis are particularly welcome.
Please contact Dr. Carlos Sanchez-Cano (carlos.sanchez@dipc.org) for more information.
