PhD on Photodynamic Therapy
|Sub Research Field:
A PhD position is offered within the Soft Matter Nanotechnology laboratory for the development of oxygen carriers for Photodynamic Therapy. The PhD student will work on the carrier development and perform in vitro/in vivo studies to assess therapeutic efficacy.
The PhD student will be doing work at the interface of material science and biology, developing different carriers for oxygen transport for a more efficient photodynamic therapy. A material science/chemistry background will be fundamental for the work but the candidate must be willing to closely interact with biologists. The work will be carried out in collaboration with the Charité in Berlin, Germany and the University of Brasilia, in Brazil.
