Job Summary
This call is open to recruit a motivated young researcher interested in carrying out a PhD research project in the fields of bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal inorganic chemistry, catalysis and photochemistry at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) under the supervision of Dr. Raphael de Paiva.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be working at the forefront and converging point of several modern topics in bioinorganic chemistry, focusing on the design of photoactive metal compounds for the selective targeting and modification of Cys residues in proteins. This project will lead into exciting new tools that can be applied in the wider field of chemical biology and medicine.
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience in the synthesis, purification, and characterization of coordination compounds
(including NMR, MS, optical spectroscopy).
Desirable skills will also be:
- Experience with NMR and / or MS-based proteomics or experience with on structural
elucidation of metallodrug/target biomolecule adducts;
- Experience in homogeneous catalysis;
- Experience in photophysics and photochemistry of metal complexes;
- MSc in the field of inorganic / bioinorganic chemistry.
