Job Description

The Singularity Theory and Algebraic Geometry group in the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics has a research focus on studying singularities in the broadest sense.

We are primarily looking for a candidate with the background on the algebraic side, such as algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. A potential candidate is expected to fit with the research interests of Javier de Bobadilla and/or Ilya Smirnov, the description of our interests is available at http://www.bcamath.org/en/research/lines/STAG

The length of the position is 2 years subject to a midterm evaluation. It has no attached teaching duties.

Specific Requirements

· Promising young researchers with a strong background, confirmed by the thesis, publications or preprints, in commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, or related areas.
· Applicants must have their PhD (in Mathematics) completed before the contract starts
