BCMaterials, Basque Center on Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, Leioa, Spain (www.bcmaterials.net), is an autonomous research center, belonging to Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). BCMaterials is looking for a motivated and experienced scientist to fill a two-year POST-DOCTORAL position in Functional Materials, especially electroceramics, for the applications in communication, energy conversion, storage and harvesting, electronics and automation, etc. The main research activities of BCMaterials in the different areas can be visited in www.bcmaterials.net. For the successful candidate, the position represents an excellent opportunity to develop his/her personal scientific research career, exploiting the capabilities of advanced functional materials and their application.

Job Description

Skills and Requirements:
• PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or related areas
• Demonstrated experience in the field, particularly like ceramics preparation and characterisation.
• Strong background in functional materials, such as, piezoelectric, pyroelectric, ferroelectric ceramics, etc.
• Experience in the use of different facilities and data treatment.
• A team player who can collaborate with other research groups.

Work Program / Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Ceramic materials design, fabrication and characterisation, including bulk or/and thin films, for dielectric energy storage
2. Ceramic materials for Electrocaloric effect
3. Ceramic solid state electrolytes for Li ion batteries.
